.htaccess File Management

How to control your website using the .htaccess file capacity of the Control Panel.

In order to use the functions of the .htaccess file, including access control, custom error documents, MIME types, etc., an .htaccess file must be created.

Add a wide .htaccess domain file

1. Click the Icon Hosting Features menu item if it is not already open.
2. Click on the Icon Htaccess menu item.
3. Locate the Global Directory Options section.
4. If a domain width .htaccess file does not already exist, you will see an Add button. Click this button to add the .htaccess file.
5. You will see the following message at the top of the screen: Added .htaccess file: directory.

Add a directory specific .htaccess file

1. Click on the Accommodation Features menu item if it is not already open.
2. Click on the Htaccess menu item.
3. Locate the Directory Options section.
4. Choose the directory in which you want to create this .htaccess file from the Directory drop-down menu.
5. If you want this new .htaccess file to be enabled immediately after creation, choose "Enabled" in the Status section.
6. Click on the Add button.
7. You will see the following message at the top of the screen: Added .htaccess file: directory.

Delete .htaccess domain file

1. Click the Icon Hosting Features menu item if it is not already open.
2. Click on the Icon Htaccess menu item.
3. Locate the Global Directory Options section.
4. Click on the Delete button.
5. You will see a confirmation page. Click the Delete button to confirm.
6. You will see the following message at the top of the screen: The .htaccess file: directory was deleted.

Delete a specific .htaccess directory file

1. Click on the Accommodation Features menu item if it is not already open.
2. Click on the Htaccess menu item.
3. Locate the Directory Options section.
4. Click the check box next to the directory or directories in which you want to delete the .htaccess file.
5. Using the drop-down menu at the bottom of the directory list, select "Delete
