Backup & Restore


Create a Backup

  1. Click the Icon Administration menu item if it is not already open.
  2. Click the Icon Backup menu item.
  3. Select the desired type of Backup from the Backup Type drop down.
    1. If you select Full Backup, your web files, databases and email will be backed up along with the configuration information for your account.
    2. If you select Partial Backup, check the boxes next to what you want to backup, E-mail, Web Files, Databases or any combination of the three.
    3. If you select Structure-Only Backup, only SiteWorx account related information (not data files) will be backed up. This information includes usernames, passwords, quotas, and other settings. Actual website files, database data, and email files are not backed up.
  4. Select the desired time for the backup from the Backup When drop down.
    1. If you select Schedule Backup, check the radio button next to how often you'd like the backup to occur.
    2. Select the desired hour from the Hour drop down.
    3. Select the desired day of the week from the Day of the Week drop down.
    4. Select the desired day of the month from the Day of the Month drop down.
  5. Select the desired location of the backup from the Backup Where drop down.
    1. If you select Default Location, it will backup the file to /home/username/backups, where username is the first 8 characters of your domain name
    2. If you select Other Location, choose Local File, FTP, or SFTP/SCP
      1. If you select Local File, enter the path, starting with the root, where you would like the backup to be stored. Example: /home/username/domainname.com/backup
      2. If you select FTP, enter the path, ftp username, ftp password, hostname, and port of your FTP server.
      3. If you select SFTP/SCP, enter the path, ftp username, ftp password, hostname, and port of your SFTP/SCP server.
  6. If you'd like to be emailed once the backup process is complete, enter your valid email address in the E-mail status to field.
  7. Click the button to begin the backup process.
  8. You will see the following message at the top of the screen: Account(s) backup successfully initiated.

Delete a Backup
  1. Click the Administration menu item if it is not already open.
  2. Click the Backup menu item.
  3. Check the box next to the backup file you wish to delete. Click the [ check all ] if you wish to delete all the backup files.
  4. Choose Delete
