Directions for KVM

(Warning: may not work with Google Chrome)

1.  You will receive login credentials from us which will include username, password and the IP to access the device.  Put the supplied IP address in the address bar of your browser and Enter (we are using Firefox, so if you use another browser, you may get slightly different warning screens):

 2.  You will see the following (or similar) warning screen.  Please click 1 and 2 to add an exception and allow you to access the IP:

connection untrusted

(At this point, you may be prompted to either update or install Java)

3.  You will be asked if you wish to install rrc.cab.  Please allow, accept or agree to install.  You may need to accept or agree twice.  This is the client program. (You may also need to accept an ActiveX control)

4.  You are now at the Raritan Remote Client Screen.  Click Connection, then choose New Profile:

5.  Enter any text you wish for Description and then enter the KVM IP as shown below, then click the Accept button:

connection

6.  Click on the Connection that you just made under Raritan Devices:

devices

7.  You are presented with the Login box, enter the Username and Password that we have provided, and click OK:

login

(You may need to unblock this program in Windows Firewall when prompted)

8.  Double click KVM Port:

kvmport

9.  You should now be presented with the client and the terminal screen.  The first step is to synchronize your screen with your server’s screen, do this by clicking 1.

sync_video

10.  You may also wish to assign exclusive keyboard and mouse use to the KVM client, you can do this by clicking the mouse cursor 4 buttons to the right of the video sync button.  You also have a yellow button next to the mouse cursor button for Ctrl+Alt+Del which will reboot several operating systems

11.  Click Connection, then Exit to logout.

TIP:  Ctrl + Alt + M   will display a pop-up menu with these options and several more.  This is especially useful if you accidentally activate full-screen mode (or some other mode) and don’t know how to return to the client screen or back to the default settings, it is also useful for several other functions.
